Key Person Approach
We operate a Key Person System. This means that your child
will be allocated a member of the team, primarily responsible for their care and development plans. This helps us to recognise each child as an individual, to note their efforts and achievements, to provide continuity, reassurance and security and to help us to plan future opportunities and experiences to best meet their needs and interests.
This approach also allows us to build strong relationships with parents and carers and provide lots of opportunities for key worker/parent interaction.
We want to get to know you and your child and for you to have the opportunity to get to know us!
Together we make a great team!

Electronic Learning Journals
Our electronic learning have been a huge hit with both parents and staff!!
We upload observations and photos to each child's learning journal ensuring that parents receive instant email notifications to let them know what their child has been up to enabling them to always be involved in their child's learning. These can be accessed any time, any where and can easily be shared with family and friends near and far. Parents also have the opportunity to upload their own photos and observations as well as comment on what their child has been up to at our preschool.

My Unique Story
My Unique Story is a personalised record of learning, development
and wellbeing, completed for each child. It is designed to reflect the stages of development and progress throughout pre-school. My Unique Story requires input from parents/carers and a child’s key worker.
The Story helps you and your child's key worker to come together, to agree targets for development and is designed to be an informative record which follows the learning journey of your child.
We love that our Pre-Schoolers are all fantastically unique and encourage them to express themselves in which ever way they choose.

Parents as Partners
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requires all those working with young children to engage in learning partnerships with parents.
‘Parents are children’s first and most enduring educators. When parents and practitioners work together in early years settings, the results have a positive impact on children’s learning and development.’
We really enjoy getting to know a child, their parents and extended family. Parents or carers and siblings are welcomed right into the setting at drop off and pick up and staff enjoy taking the opportunity to chat and share stories about what your child has been up to.
By developing good relationships between parents and staff we provide a happy, friendly and warm
environment and can make sure that each child has the most effective personalised learning and development plan in place.
We have introduced our Leeanne as our new Parent Liaison Person, her role will involve keeping the information board up to date and coming up with exciting new way to include parents in our Pre-School!

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
We recognise that all children learn in different ways and make progress at different rates; therefore we provide a broad, balanced and inclusive environment.
By getting to know each child and their families personally we can find the most appropriate way to support and help their learning.
As a pre-school we work hard to modify any necessary aspects of environment, teaching or learning including room organisation, teaching style, materials, observation and assessment for each and every child.
We will work with parents to accommodate children with pre-identified SEND requirements and have a well established relationship with local agencies to help us to assess and identify further needs in our children if necessary.
Our SENco, Gemma, who oversees our SEND and inclusion, is always happy to chat with parents in person, on the phone or through email so please don't hesitate to get in touch
